John Stamos Reveals He Tried to Get the Olsen Twins Fired from Full House Said They Cri
In a statement we certainly didn’t see coming, Full House alum John Stamos revealed he wasn’t always a fan of the Olsen twins (Mary-Kate and Ashley, who together shared the role of Michelle Tanner).
The actor, 51, opened up to reporters of the Television Critics Association in Beverly Hills where he confessed to trying to get the twins fired from the sitcom!
“It’s sort of true that the Olsen twins cried a lot. It was very difficult to get the shot,” he admitted.

John’s suggestion struck a cord with the producers and replacement babies were introduced on set though they did little to help make the situation better. The actor shared, “They brought in a couple of unattractive redheaded kids. We tried that for a while, and that didn’t work.”

Eventually the “replacement” kids were canned and the Olsen sisters were brought back — smart choice considering the adorable twins would eventually lead the show to unparalleled success during it’s run from 1987 through 1995.

Don’t worry though, no love was lost between the Olsen girls and John as they have remained close throughout the years. After the show wrapped, Mary-Kate and Ashley continued their acting and created their own entertainment and fashion empire in the process.
